Summerlin Academy put together a remarkable lineup for Black History Month.

During a presentation for students today, these four veterans shared the stage in Bartow High’s auditorium: (from left) Van Wright Jr., an Air Force veteran who served in Vietnam; World War II Navy veteran Lemuel Geathers Sr.; Alexander Jefferson, a WWII veteran and one of the famous Tuskegee Airmen; and J.J. Corbett, who during WWII became one of the Army’s first black paratroopers.

A special thanks to these gentlemen for sharing their time and experiences with our students.
